I am originally from Orange County, but made the transition to NorCal in 2008 when I earned a scholarship and the opportunity to play softball at Sonoma State University from 2008-2013. Playing at the collegiate level taught me so much about hard work, discipline, integrity, teamwork, and provided me with lifelong friendships. Every day we shed blood, sweat, and tears for each other and at the end of the day had each other’s back, ALWAYS. After softball, I needed to do some soul searching for something I was passionate about again, at a competitive level. I experimented with different types of activities, but nothing that ever gave me that adrenaline rush similar to when I laced up my cleats on game day, until I found CrossFit. I signed up for my first CrossFit membership in November of 2013, a couple months after graduating college and after that the rest is history. I have been doing CrossFit for 3+ years now and get to work out and be surrounded by such inspiring people. I love that CrossFit pushes me to my highest potential. Every day I step into the gym I know that I am getting better if I just show up, good day or bad.
As most people know, I am very family oriented and my family is the most important thing in my world. Being 300+ miles away from my family is hard, but what CrossFit North Marin allowed me to realize is that my family is everywhere around this gym. They provide me with trust, love, and support every day. I am so thankful to have found such an amazing community.
Everyone has one person they look up to in their life and mine is my Dad. He taught me that hard work never goes unnoticed and success never comes easy. He taught me that if I wanted to get better at something I was going to have to put in the work day in and day out. I have found that to be true in college and in life so far, that he could be my number one fan, but I also had to believe in myself. CrossFit has allowed me to have confidence in myself, whether crushing my strengths or working on my weakness. So like my dad inspires me, my goal is to inspire others (YOU), to be generous with my knowledge, and to leave a lasting impression on anyone that steps into this gym.
